With football season around the corner, Thursday Night Football returns to Prime Video with 16 games spanning from Week 2 to Week 17. Of those, 12 are pivotal divisional matchups.

Thursday Night Football’s strongest schedule to date includes these three must-see games:

Week 2 (Sept. 12): Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins

The first TNF game of the season pits Josh Allen and the reigning AFC East champion Bills against Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins, who also made the playoffs last season.

Buffalo relinquished key pieces on defense in the offseason as Jordan Poyer and Tre’Davious White found new homes, in addition to losing star wide receiver Stefon Diggs on the offensive side. They will only go as far as Josh Allen carries them, and he will have to do plenty of heavy lifting this season if he wants to win another division title and make a playoff run.

Miami enters the 2024 season with high expectations as they return all of their key pieces on offense, including standout wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. They also brought in talent on defense with the additions of Shaq Barrett and Kendall Fuller, as well as Jordan Poyer, who will be playing against his former team.

Week 10 (Nov. 7): Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens

For the second straight season, the Bengals and Ravens will battle on TNF. The AFC North will be a gauntlet this year, as all four teams are littered with talent, making this matchup one of the most highly anticipated TNF games of the year.

Cincinnati looks to get back to the Super Bowl for the second time with Joe Burrow at the Helm, and this matchup against Baltimore could have major postseason implications. Despite losing running back Joe Mixon to the Texans, the Bengals offense remains potent with receivers Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase (if he sorts out his contract) and running backs Zack Moss and Chase Brown.

To their standards, Baltimore has underachieved in recent years despite having a league-best 13-4 regular season record last season. Lamar Jackson will look to bring the Ravens back to the postseason and try to flip the script on their playoff woes. A prime-time matchup against Cincinnati could be hurdle they need to clear if they wish to emerge as the team to beat from the AFC North.

Week 14 (Dec. 5): Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions

Aside from the AFC North, the NFC North might be the toughest division in football. Each team is capable of a playoff push, and a late season TNF battle between division rivals Green Bay and Detroit may prove to be crucial. The teams split last season’s series with the road squad winning each time.

Jordan Love took the league by storm last year, finishing the season as one of the best quarterbacks in the league and leading Green Bay to an upset of second-seeded Dallas in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. With one of the deepest wide receiver groups in the league and the addition of Josh Jacobs at running back, Green Bay’s offense is only going to get better.

Many would say that Detroit should have been playing in the Super Bowl last season. After blowing a 17-point lead the 49ers in the NFC Championship game, the Lions will look to make another deep playoff run as they return most of their key pieces. They have one of the most difficult schedules in the NFL, though, and this game against Green Bay might turn out to be a must-win.

The Rest of the TNF Slate

Six teams will make two TNF appearances this season: the 49ers, Jets, Bengals, Rams, Browns and Seahawks. The Jets are the only team to host both of their TNF appearances.
